The most commonly used stereotypes and social groups are:

• The Jock
• The Princess/Plastic
• The Geek
• The Rebel
• The Misfit
• The average girl/boy
• The new girl/boy

Teen films are almost always set around a high school, this allows all social groups to be shown! However this is different in hybrid teen films. But generally the classic teen romantic comedy is set around a high school.
